We love supporting local businesses. Each bag is handmade by a Tanzanian women who has a sewing business of her own. Each bag sponsored helps more than just the person receiving the bag.

The needs are as different as the people we meet. Some people need basic hygienic supplies, others need wound care items, food packages or basic first aid supplies to keep their families healthy. Other kits provide birth supplies that a woman has to bring with her to the hospital when she gives birth.

We do not just drop off a health kit and go. What makes DHI valuable is the time we personally invest in each person’s life. We sit in their homes, listen to their stories and individually create a health lesson that will personal impact their lives. We speak Swahili, the heart language of Tanzania. We know the culture and get below the surface.
